Professional Training in applying Clinical Hypno-Psychotherapy
The Institute was established in Ireland in 1990 by Dr Joseph E. Keaney, a world renowned professional Clinical Hypnotherapist and member in good standing in many professional hypnotherapy/ psychotherapy associations in the UK, US and Europe.
There are currently many hundred graduate Hypnotherapists, trained by Dr Keaney, practicing throughout the world.
Dr Keaney has licensed Hypnotherapy Institutes in the UK, Sweden, Germany and Australia to teach his Foundation Certificate (ICHP Aust Entrance Diploma), Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses which are based on the first, second and third years of the Degree taught in Europe.
ICHP Graduates become registered and accredited Member Hypnotherapists of both ICHP(Ireland), the headquarters organization, and of their local ICHP, for example ICHP(Australia).
To practice ethically and professionally our graduates are encouraged to join an Australian Hypnotherapy Association, engage in ongoing education and supervision each year and also hold current First Aid and Professional Indemnity Insurance documentation.
We recommend our students take a look through some of the major Australian Hypnotherapy Associations websites; AHA, GoAH, ASCH, AACHP, etc so that an informed choice can be made.

the HCA was established in 2010 by representatives of the profession HCA serves as the regulatory body for hypnotherapy in Australia and sets minimum professional standards for training and ethical conduct for clinical hypnotherapists. Comprised of Hypnotherapy Associations and Educational Institutions.
HCA also provides a national register for the Australian public that is easy to use geographically and displays the hypnotherapists level of qualifications to the public so that they may make an informed choice when choosing a Qualified Hypnotherapist to work with.
ICHP(Australia) is a Member organization of the Hypnotherapy Council of Australia, (HCA).​

ICHP (AUSTRALIA) TRAINING 2026 DATES
ICHP AUSTRALIA HAS INCREASED ACCESS TO ZOOM ONLINE TRAINING FOR ALL STAGES
ICHP Diploma courses are Blended with Online Portal study and Two semester training blocks.
Diploma practical training Level 1 and 2 run in parallel
Each level starting with a 2 day zoom weekend followed by a 5 day intensive in person practical (Hybrid) class are held at the Adelaide Meridien Hotel, North Adelaide.
(additional group and 1-1 support zoom sessions are optional for level 1 and 2)
2026 Level 03 - Advanced Diploma classes are Modulated and Rotate throughout the year
each Module comes with a workbook, slide show and additional files for clinic support and can be taken for ongoing professional development.
(some prerequisite training requirements may be required)
We always encourage face to face training, but where it is not possible to attend a live class all ICHP courses are fully accessible via Hybrid classes. (Mixed In person and zoom students)

All Online Zoom/Hybrid training has a Morning & Afternoon session approx 3hrs long with short tea break and an 1 hour break for lunch.
Breakout rooms are used to engage with other students throughout each session, participants facilitate many experiential activities and interventions in clinical Hypno-psychotherapy in a supported learning environment.
All Online classes are Interactive with an ICHP Clinical Supervisor/Trainer.
